Ex-offenders often have difficulties integrating back to society due to the lack of job opportunities. The Industrial and Services Cooperative Society Ltd (ISCOS), a social co-operative that provide support for ex-offenders, has identified vocational driving as an attractive vocation that is suited and available to ex-offenders. However, the cost of obtaining a driver’s licence and subsequent upgrading to a higher class of driver’s licence is often beyond the reach of many ex-offenders. The Rotary Club of Singapore, in collaboration with ISCOS, selected suitable ex-offenders for subsidise the cost of obtaining a driver’s licence and to provide tuition on driving theory tests followed by emplacement in jobs.
