Paul John: Whiskey Tasting
We held our first fellowship event this Rotary term on 19th August 2022. Jointly organised by the FRCS Fellowship Committee and Rotary E-Club of 3310, it was an evening of sumptuous Peranakan food, cheese, roasted pork and duck, and appreciation of great Indian Single Malt Whiskey.
Mr Gopi Krishnan from Paul John Whisky was our speaker for the evening. We tasted 5 various expressions of Paul John Whisky which are the artistic fusion of Barley, Water, & American Oak Casks and each expression has a significant character of its own.
NIRVANA is a Non-Peated bottle at an ABV of 40% and is for those willing and keen to experience single malts, especially for the first time.
BRILLIANCE, with 46% ABV is a Non-Peated whisky, and single malt non-chill filtered whiskey.
BOLD is the epitome of a Peated whisky. 46% ABV non-chilled filtered whisky.
CLASSIC Select Cask with 55.2 % ABV single malt non-chilled filtered whiskey. They are drawn from selected cask profiles and have a distinct and unique character. The CLASSIC is an elegant masterpiece from selected casks.
PEATED with 55.5% ABV offers delicious wafts of Peat.
Personally, BRILLIANCE is my first choice, as it has a good aroma with a pleasant after taste.
